Count Analysis Reports

This is a set of reports which provide analyses of a single count in text and graphical formats. Reports can be saved in a variety of document and file formats.

  • Count Sub-System Analysis: provides a quick analysis of the relative and absolute size and complexity of the Count Sub-Systems, as represented by the first level nodes. Useful for estimating and for allocating resources.

  • Count Label Analysis: provides a quick analysis of the relative and absolute size and complexity of the Count by the Option values of the selected Label.

  • Count Sub-System and Label Analysis: combines the Sub-System and Label Analysis reports.

  • Enhancement Impact Analysis: illustrates the impact of the Enhancement by Sub-System, showing Added, Changed and Deleted functionality as well as the amount of functionality not impacted.

  • Enhancement Profile: profiles the Enhancement showing the size of the Enhancement, the size of the Application impacted by testing and the resultant Application after the Enhancement. Useful when estimating.

  • Value Adjustment Factor Profile: shows the contribution of each of the GSCs to the Value Adjustment Factor. Allows easy comparison of profiles across different counts.

  • Relative Complexity of Function Types: shows the complexity of each of the Function Types and compares these to Industry Averages. Useful in assessing overall and specific project ‘risk’ and in project estimation.

  • Relative Contribution of Function Types: shows the percentage contribution of each function type to the count and a comparison with Industry Average. Provides a mechanism for ‘sanity check’ validation of a count.

  • Project Cancellation Risk: provides an indicator of the risk of Project Cancellation associated with the Project Size.

Portfolio Reports

This is a set of reports across the counts stored in the database. Reports are provided in text and graphical formats.

The reports available are:

  • Count List

  • Application Portfolio

  • Application Count List

  • Application Volatility

  • Development Work Product

  • Project Volatility

Reports can be saved in a variety of document and file formats:

  • QuickReport file (*.qrp)

  • HTML Document (*.htm)

  • Adobe Acrobat Document (*.pdf)

  • Rich Text Format (*.rtf)

  • GIF Image File (*.gif)

  • JPEG Image File (*.jpg)

  • Bitmap File (*.bmp)

  • Enhanced Metafile (*.emf)

  • Windows Metafile(*.wmf)

  •

    Enhanced Hierarchy Display

    • The Hierarchy Display now includes the Unadjusted Function Point Count at the Root Node, dynamically maintained as you work.

    • The Hierarchy Position (Level Number) can be displayed against each node. The Hierarchy Position display is user configurable using Set User Display Defaults. This Number can also be included in the Hierarchy Diagram print.

    • The Enhancement Type is displayed against impacted Transactions in an Enhancement Project Count.

    Faster Navigation and Keyboard Shortcuts

The counter can move quickly around the Transaction Hierarchy, using keyboard controls to Automatically Explode / Implode while browsing.

    • Branches can now be Exploded and Imploded using a single mouse click.

    • The counter can directly assign in the Hierarchy Display:

    • Function Type

    • Complexity

    • Enhancement Type

    • The counter can convert the node type with a single key stroke - that is, can convert a Component node to a Transaction and vice versa.

    • There are navigation fastpaths to:

    • Transaction File List for viewing and maintaining Files linked to a Transaction

    • Count File List for linking Files to a group of Transactions.

    • Transaction Notes List for viewing and maintaining Notes linked to a Transaction

    • Count Notes List for linking Notes to a group of Transactions.

    • Transaction Label List for viewing and maintaining Labels linked to a Transaction

    • Count Label List for linking Labels to a group of Transactions.

Dynamic Display of Linked Files, Notes and Labels

Linked Files, Notes and Label values can be dynamically refreshed and displayed for the selected node.

Support for American and Other Date Formats

The date format uses your Regional Settings.

    Support for International Keyboard Characters

The WORKBENCH will now support "foreign" keyboard characters, such as ß, á, è, ö.

    Hyperlinks from Linked Notes

A file reference in a Linked Note can be used to ‘launch’ the associated application and open the file. This means that documents and any other files, e.g. screen images, diagrams, used to cross reference your count can be accessed quickly and directly while counting.

User Defined Name for New System Master

The Update System MASTER has been simplified to allow the Scenario name for the new system MASTER to be defined during the Update process. See Update System Master.

... plus many other minor enhancements and performance improvements to existing functionality.
