Functional Sizing: Advanced Techniques

Many function point analysts need to gain confidence in the application of functional sizing techniques.  Functional sizing rules are essentially simple but their application to real systems and projects will highlight complexities in their interpretation.

At the completion of the course, participants will have obtained:

• the experience of carrying out a count in a workshop environment under the guidance of an experienced function point analyst

• an in-depth grounding in the practical application of functional sizing by building a functional model and sizing an application with which they are familiar

• an appreciation of the direct relevance and application of these techniques within current and projected system responsibilities

• an understanding of the potential complexities involved and a consistent approach to resolving issues in the future.
